My sister Cristy had twin boys on December 20th. They are identical but easy to tell apart right now (whew!)
While in the hospital giving birth, Cristy looked at the clock. It was getting late at night and baby "A", Adam was born at 11:40 pm weighing in at a hefty 6 lbs 2 oz.
Cristy looked at all the thousands of people in the room that are present during a multiple birth at 8 months gestation and announced to them: "If the next one is born after 12:00 and his birthday is on the 21st of December, you are all sworn to secrecy and we will say he was born just before midnight on the 20th! These babies will not have different birthdays!" One of the nurses said, "You would live a LIE like that!?!" Cristy said "Yes I would!"
So the doctors and nurses began to encourage her to get the baby out before 12:00. They were helping all they could, brought in a high school cheer squad & all when baby "B" Dillon was born. A nurse came up to Cristy and gave her the stats: "He weighs 5 lbs 12 oz and was born at 11:59 and 48 seconds! You barely made it with 12 seconds to spare!" Cristy really believed that he was born after midnight. "Well, thanks for going along with me. I really appreciate it." "No, REALLY!" the nurse said, he was born 12 seconds before midnight! You did it."
CONGRATULATIONS CRISTY & BRAD
